1. Materials and Structure

Traditional capacitors typically use metals such as aluminum and zinc as electrode materials, and may employ liquid or solid electrolytes. Traditional capacitors have diverse structures, including aluminum electrolytic capacitors, ceramic capacitors, and so on.

 

2. Electrical performance

 

Capacitance density: Tantalum capacitors can provide a large capacitance in a small volume and have a high capacitance density.

 

Equivalent series resistance (ESR): Tantalum capacitors typically have a lower ESR, which makes them excellent in high-frequency applications.

 

Temperature characteristics: Tantalum capacitors can maintain stable performance over a wide temperature range, typically operating from -50 ℃ to 100 ℃.
